Isn’t the ceramic, with its depths and cracks, reliefs and fractures, a material incarnation of the landscape? And isn’t the ceramic object, perhaps, a sensitive geology that, through its poetics, seeks to vindicate its own origin as a fragment of the ground, in an act of revelation and resistance?
In my artistic practice, the ceramic work is constructed from the material identity of the soil and its creative and plastic possibilities. For me, ceramic creation begins with the observation and acknowledgement of the materialities of a specific territory; it is a praxis in which the soil manifests its material events, and the work is created with the tension between what I seek to build and what the earth and its natural clays can manifest.
The ceramic, then, is a revelation and an encounter between landscape, territory, and body: a way to make visible the unique identity of a specific place through the creation of contemporary objects and artifacts.
In its nature, in its essence, and by its very right, the ceramic is not ruled: it is materiality, happening, and revelation.
¿No es la cerámica, entre sus honduras y grietas, relieves y fracturas, una encarnación material del paisaje? ¿Y no es acaso el objeto cerámico geología sensible, que en su poética, buscan reivindicar su propio origen como un fragmento de la tierra, en un acto de revelación y resistencia?
En mi práctica artística, la obra cerámica se construye desde la identidad material del suelo y sus posibilidades creativas y plásticas. Para mi, la creación cerámica empieza con la observación y el reconocimiento de materialidades de un territorio específico, siendo una praxis donde el suelo manifiesta sus acontecimientos materiales, y la obra se produce con la tensión entre lo que busco construir y aquello que la tierra y sus arcillas naturales puede manifestar.
La cerámica, entonces, es revelación y encuentro entre paisaje, territorio y cuerpo: una forma de hacer visible la identidad propia de un lugar específico, a través de la creación de objetos y artefactos contemporáneos.
En su naturaleza, en su esencia y en su derecho, la cerámica no se gobierna: es materialidad, acontecimiento y revelación.
